Hungarian Classics

Chef Christine will join you via Zoom for an engaging and interactive Hungarian Classics cooking class. She’ll uncover the culinary history of Eastern European cooking and take you through each of the menu items, step by step.

Together you will prepare chicken paprika, dumplings with fine herbs, and a vibrant quick pickled cucumber salad that’s the perfect accompaniment to this mouth-watering, rich meal. There will be many opportunities to ask questions along the way.

Menu

Produce:

  • white onions

Meat/ Eggs/Dairy:

  • chicken thighs or cooked green lentils (plant-based alternative)

  • eggs

  • sour cream (optional) or plant-based sour cream


Dry Goods:

  • avocado oil or similar

  • paprika, sweet

  • sea salt

  • ground black pepper

  • celery

  • cayenne pepper (optional)

  • all-purpose flour or gluten free flour

  • bay leaf

  • white wine vinegar


Misc.:

  • chicken or vegetable stock

  • stove top

  • cutting board (1-2)

  • knives

  • large stewing pot with lid

  • large pot with fitting lid

  • strainer 

  • medium mixing bowls

  • small and medium bowls for ingredient placement (mise en place)

  • plates and utensils for finished meal

Class Participation: Ask questions through audio or chat. Use of video is best.
 
Class Size: Public class sizes are between 5 to 15 connections to provide an opportunity for all guests to participate and ask questions, and engage with one another. Private classes are available and can connect up to 200 guests.
