Fermentation Part One: Sauerkrauts

In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll be slicing, chopping, salting, and mashing your way into healthy, tangy, naturally fermented sauerkrauts as Chef Christine guides you through the process of home fermentation.


You will take with you an understanding of the chemistry, ingredient variations, nutrition, and steps necessary to make killer krauts every time and the many ways to enjoy and serve.

We'll be slicing, chopping, salting and mashing our way into healthy, tangy, naturally fermented sauerkrauts! This is fermentation at it's finest!

  • mason jars (more details on size in invite)

  • small jar to use as weight

  • mandolin slicer (optional)

  • wooden spoon for mashing

  • large bowls

The following are ingredients and equipment/ small wares needed for the class. Substitutions can be made as needed and an official list along with recipes will be emailed in advance of class.

Class Participation: Ask questions through audio or chat. Use of video is best.
 
Class Size: Public class sizes are between 5 to 15 connections to provide an opportunity for all guests to participate and ask questions, and engage with one another. Private classes are available and can connect up to 200 guests.
